for the bees:
Sweet
Clover get 5-6" high

Dutch Clover get 6" high
Plant in
the fal l
one month before frost,
around October.
They both
bloom in May, June and July.
50 pounds
will plant about 2 acres.
Can get
Sweet Dutch seed from Turner Seed Company, Breckenridge, Texas.
One acre
can feed about 1 or 2 hives.
Can fence
in your yard and put Vitex plants and Popcorn trees around the
fence,
and plant
clover inside the fence.
Can get
buckwheat seed from farm store in Slocomb, Alabama.
Goldenrod
flowers produces darker and stronger honey.
To store
frames and supers in the winter, put in black bag with moth balls or
crystals
on paper plate and tie tightly .
Can put moth crystals
on plywood and put
on top and
bottom of frames. Be sure to air out one week before you use .
Mr. OJ's
top bar hives are under a shed, and he has glass in the back of his
hive so
you can
see the bees.
